Scott William Adams, age 62, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at his home on January 22, 2026.
Scott was born on September 20, 1963, in Richmond, Missouri. He grew up in Braymer, Missouri, where he laid the foundation for a life rooted in loyalty, friendship, and a deep love for his three girls. He was the son of Carl Adams and Shirley Ott. Scott graduated from Braymer High School in 1981 and later attended Missouri Western University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in science in 1986.
Throughout his life, Scott wore many hats; from farmer, bar owner to street sweeper but no matter the role, he approached everything with a big heart. He felt deeply and often carried life’s weight quietly and internally. Above all else, he was the most proud of his three beautiful daughters, whom he loved fiercely.
Scott had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He was a pool shark, enjoyed long country backroad drives, a mechanic of all things and had a lifelong love of music. He deeply cherished the country place and the farm where he grew up. Scott owned a bar called The Dug Out in Braymer, Missouri, where he brought the community together and created a place to gather in a small town. He truly never knew a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. To know Scott was to know a friend.
Scott is survived by his daughters, Cierra Barron (John Barron), Olivia Derickson (Ryan Derickson), and Carlie Adams; his granddaughter, Ophelia Derickson; his mother, Shirley Ott; and his brother, Mike Adams. He also leaves behind many friends and loved ones who will forever miss his laid-back, easygoing spirit, along with his kindness, humor, and heart of gold.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
