Deana J. Houston, age 79, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri and current resident of Byron, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Atrium Health Navicent Pine Point Hospice, Macon, Georgia. She was born the daughter of William F. and Anna (Bowman) Houston on September 12, 1946 in Lemons, Missouri.
She was a 1964 graduate of Liberty High School. She attended Kansas City Business College and had worked as a staff assistant for Dr. Thomas Fraley, MD., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for several years. Deana was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, dancing, listening to “Good Old Country Music,” and her favorite READING.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Springston Homenik (John) of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Robert Springston, Jr. of Byron, Georgia, Frank Springston (Dawn) of White House, Tennessee, and Grace Atchison (Jamie) of Milledgeville, Georgia; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Thrasher of Byron, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Marion Houston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be held at the church at 9:30 am prior to the service. Burial will be held at Dickson Cemetery, Unionville, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
