Donald Maycock, 89, of Waverly, MO, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Waverly Christian Church with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Waverly Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shirkey Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born January 22, 1937, in Dover, MO, he was the son of the late William Edward Maycock and Letha Ryun Maycock. On October 21, 1955, he married Shirley Johnson who survives of the home. His career working in oil refineries and chemical plants took them to various places through the years and after retiring they returned home to Lafayette County. Donald went to work with his brother, Tucker, at Gunite of Missouri Inc. in Waverly, and after retiring from there, worked part time for the city of Waverly in the street department. He was a member of Dover Christian Church.
Donald is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Shirley, of the home; three children: Sheree Madison (Mike), Mitzi Cotter, and Brent Maycock (Linda), all of Waverly; four grandchildren: Jill Madison, Jeff Madison (Anneke), Dustin Maycock (Cheyenne), and Brandon Maycock (Anna); eight great-grandchildren: Aubrie, Kota, Chloe, Jaxon, Gavin, Paisleigh, Jaden, and Skyler; a special “great-great-granddaughter”, Willow; three sisters-in-law, Pat Maycock, Brenda Maycock, and Valerie Maycock; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tabitha Madison; a great-grandson, Christian; and eight siblings: Junior Maycock (Elizabeth), Bernice Shier (Gene), Tucker Maycock, Elaine Murry (Ralph), Jack Maycock, Larry Maycock, Kenny Maycock and James Albert Maycock.
