Gary Lee Henry, 77, of Bogard, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, also at Southside Baptist Church in Carrollton. Burial will follow at Coloma Cemetery.

Gary was born on February 16, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Tina-Avalon High School in 1967 and went on to dedicate much of his life to hard work and caring for those around him. Gary worked for Green’s Rock Quarry in Blue Mound for 30 years. During the Vietnam era, he also faithfully served his country. After retiring from Green’s, he continued working by grading roads for Hill Township.

Gary was known as a patient, caring, and hardworking man who deeply loved farm life and the animals he cared for. He enjoyed the simple things in life and found joy in spending time with family, especially his great-niece, Linda. He loved traveling to Arizona, spending time around the farm, teaching his nephews, and visiting with family and friends. Many cherished memories were made playing cards, board games, and working puzzles together.

Farming was one of Gary’s greatest passions. He was proud of caring for his mother, building a successful farming operation, raising cattle, purchasing a brand-new tractor and paying it off, and later buying his shiny new red truck. He also enjoyed watching rodeos and horse pulls.

Those who knew Gary will remember his warm hugs, patient spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. He took pride in everything he did and was happiest at home on the hill. Gary enjoyed teaching others how to do things “the right way” – what his family lovingly called “Gary’s way.”

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Leland Edwin Henry; his mother, Mary Frances Maple Henry; his sister, Linda Sue Henry McElhiny; his nephew Jeffrey’s wife, Lisa Rene Korsten; and other beloved family members.

He is survived by his sister, Judith Ann Streller (Gerald); nephews Jeffrey Todd Korsten and Mark Aaron Korsten (Kathy); and his great-niece, Linda Rene Korsten, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
