He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck was raised and educated in the area of his birth and spent his life enjoying the people and simple pleasures that meant the most to him. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing, and never passed up the chance to throw a ball around, play sports, or gather with family and friends. He was happiest when surrounded by others, making memories and enjoying life together.

Chuck had a personality that filled a room and a sense of humor that people won’t soon forget. He was quick with a joke, always had something funny to say, and loved making people laugh. One of his favorite things was doing his Woody Woodpecker impression, and those who knew him can still hear it and smile. Chuck had a way of turning ordinary moments into stories and laughter that people carried with them.

More than anything, Chuck was family centered. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed simply being together-whether sitting around visiting, sharing meals, cheering each other on, or helping wherever he was needed. He was a loving and caring man who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. Chuck will be remembered for his big personality, his contagious smile, and the love and joy he brought to the people around him.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
