Sarah Kathryn (Pence) Germann Died Monday June 1, 2026
Born December 18, 1930 in Purcell, OK to Harry S. and Helen (Novak) Pence
She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1949, On October 1, 1949 she married Nelson Edward Germann at the home of her parents.
Sarah was a member of the Wakenda Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School and was the pianist for over 50 years.
She was active in the Child Study Club and the PTA in the Bogard area. Her first job was with Houseworth Printing/Ann’s Wedding and she cooked at multiple nursing homes during the summer and on weekends. Her last job was with the Carrollton School District as a cook for 11 years. She became a member of the Retired Teachers Association after her retirement. She did volunteer work which included reading to the residents at Life Care Center.
Survivors include son Ronnie Germann, Bogard, daughter-in-law Gerry Germann, Carrollton, daughter Janice (Steve) Wilson, Carrollton, daughter Barbara (Andrew) Marchiando, Helotes, TX, and son Harold (Jackie) Germann, Bogard, Grandchildren include Kelli (Scott) Richardson, Lori (Curt) Grossman, Megan (Taylor) Kipping, Kimberly (David) Strobel, Katie (Brandon) Singer, Kortney (Micah) Strathman, Dominic (Kathleen) Marchiando, Amanda (Clint) Mathis, and Brenna (DeAndre Smith) Germann. Great Grandchildren are Connor Richardson, Zach Grossman, Trent Grossman, Ellie and Lillie Kipping, Olivia, Ethan and Claire Strobel, Hadley and Emma Singer, Cooper Strathman, and Quinnley and Kallie Mathis.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law Corinne Pence, nephew Charles Albert Pence, nieces Cheryl (Randy) Stuckmeyer, Carol Ann Pence, and Pamela (Todd) Padgett along with many more nieces and nephews from her husband’s family. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Nelson on October 4, 1972, her parents, brothers Albert and Harold Pence, sisters-in-law Eva Lee Pence and Kathlyn Pence, a son Kenneth Germann, and daughter-in-law Peggy Germann
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Bittiker Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday, June 15, 2026 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Grand Pass, Missouri.
Pallbearers are Dominic Marchiando, Zach Grossman, Trent Grossman, Taylor Kipping, Brandon Singer and Clint Mathis
Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Richardon, Curt Grossman, Connor Richardson, David Strobel, Micah Strathman, DeAndre Smith, and Charles Albert Pence.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt Nebo Cemetery or the Wakenda Baptist Church.
