Linda Lee (Norton) Reid, age 75, of Chillicothe, Missouri (formerly of Carrollton, Missouri) passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Born on September 14, 1950 in Oak Park, Illinois, Linda grew up in neighboring Bellwood. She attended Thomas Jefferson School and Proviso West High School.
Linda dedicated her life to helping others. For 35 years, Linda served as a paramedic in Carroll and Saline counties. She touched and saved countless lives throughout her career before her well-earned retirement.
Outside of her life-saving work, Linda had a love for traveling. She was always planning her next journey, eager to explore new cities and landscapes. However, no matter how far her travels took her, Linda’s favorite place to be was always at home or with friends and family.
Linda’s greatest joy in life was her role as a grandmother. She cherished every moment and adventure spent with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret Norton.
Linda is survived by her loving children, Michael (Jodie) Carpenter and Philip (Lacey) Carpenter, and her beloved grandchildren, Matney, Mylee, and Litton. She is also survived by her siblings, Raelene Norton, Janet Caliendo , and Thomas Norton. She leaves behind dear friends, former colleagues, and extended family members who will hold her memory close forever.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life and legacy will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Heritage Funeral Home located at 3141 N Washington St, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Linda’s honor to Shirkey Hospice.
