John “J.D.” David Windsor, 83, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO 64076 (816-633-5524). A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Military Honors will be rendered following the Celebration of Life at the funeral home. J.D. was born July 19, 1942, in Odessa, Missouri, the son of John Andrew and Mary (Bray) Windsor. A lifelong member of the Odessa community, he attended Odessa High School. J.D. served his country proudly in the United States Marines until being honorably discharged. On October 19, 1983, he was united in marriage to Vickie M. (Masonbrink) Harrison, who preceded him in death.

J.D. dedicated many years of service to the City of Odessa Water Department, where he worked until his retirement. He attended

First Baptist Church in Odessa and found great happiness in spending time with his family and friends. In his free time, J.D. especially enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and tending to his garden.

He will be remembered by his children, Scott (Doni) Windsor of Odessa, Missouri, and Heidi A. Windsor of Kansas City, Missouri; his stepdaughter, Amy Harrison of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Austin Windsor, Logan Windsor, and Ethan Gooch; his great-granddaughters, Natalie Windsor and Emily Windsor; his step-granddaughters, Victoria Harter and Diana Harter; a niece, Robin (Marlon) Dyer of Odessa, Missouri; a nephew, Tom George of Calhoun, Missouri; as well as many extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, J.D. was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Windsor; his brother, Robert “Bob” Windsor; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Windsor; and a niece, Debbie Stephenson.
