Emma Burnice “Burnie” Underwood, 89, of Concordia, MO, died Sunday, September 6, 2026, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday until time of the service, and burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born February 11, 1937, in Marshall, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Lucille Skinner. Burnie worked at Rival and various other jobs but being at home taking care of her family was her main job in life. She was very talented in crocheting, quilting, sewing, working with beads, and anything with her hands. She made all her granddaughters dolls with beautiful dresses. Burnie loved butterflies, and Christmas time was her favorite. She loved all her grandkids and great-grandkids and will be missed by all.

Grandma B is survived by her daughter, Cindy Flandermeyer (Tim) of Concordia; sons; Bobby Underwood (Robin) of Marshall, and Jerry Underwood (Karen) of Sweet Springs, MO; six grandchildren: Eric, Travis, Jesse, Holly, Hayley and Heather; eight great-grandchildren: Stella Jo, Sylvia, Avery, Leo, Everly, Preston, Axel and Onyx; one brother, Wesley Skinner (Doris) of Marshall.

Burnie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Larry Skinner; and four sisters: Ruth Simmons, Betty Newell, Paulett Skinner and Carrol Skinner.
