Jo Ann (Pallette) Cox, 83, of Wellington, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Lexington United Methodist Church, 1211 S. Business Hwy 13, Lexington, Missouri 64067. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the church. Memorials are suggested to Luminos Hospice. Jo Ann was born on October 2, 1942, in Independence, Missouri to Delbert Vernon and Arnold Jo (Vance) Pallette. She was a proud graduate of Wellington High School. On April 4, 1964, JoAnn united in marriage with her devoted husband, Steve Cox, in the place they both called home. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, where warmth and kindness were always in abundance. JoAnn had a heart full of compassion, dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for her family. Her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, and her world revolved around the love and laughter of her children and their children.
A woman of simple pleasures, JoAnn had a passion for camping under the stars, cooking delightful meals, and tending to her garden with loving hands. She possessed an extraordinary talent for finishing word search books in mere weeks, a testament to her keen mind and determination.
Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband, Steve Cox of the home, one daughter, Paula Rainwater (Brent) of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, Derek Weldy, Cory Weldy, and Connor Rainwater; three great-grandchildren, Sohpia Weldy, Ila Weldy, and Addison Weldy, and many other relatives and friends.
Along with both her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by a daughter, Kelly Jo Weldy and a sister at infancy, Vicky Lynn.
