Born September 5, 1947, in Trenton, MO, she was the daughter of the late George Monroe Harris and Wilda Marie Thomas Harris. Diane graduated from Trenton High School in 1965, and then from Chillicothe Beauty Academy in 1967. On May 17, 1975, she married Glenn E. Baker who preceded her in death on December 30, 2025.
Diane was a beautician for nearly 60 years and had owned and operated Chateau Beauty Salon and then Diane’s Styling Corner. Diane was widowed in her first marriage at a young age which built a foundation of being strong-willed, determined, hard working, and doing whatever had to be done to help provide for her family. She also worked for several years for Butterfield Youth Services where the kids affectionately called her Grandma.
Though she was a hard worker her entire life, her family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed having her family together, cooking for them, and just spending time together. Diane was also blessed through the drive-in ministry at Cumberland Presbyterian Church which gave her the opportunity to attend a church service.
Survivors include two children, Tracy Venable (Ross) of rural Sweet Springs and Patrick Baker of rural Nelson; two grandchildren, Brett Crumbaugh (Lizz) of St. Charles and Nathan Crumbaugh (Kelly) of Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Carson, Owen, and Abigail Crumbaugh; one brother, Jerry Harris (Julia) of Bethany; one sister-in-law, Pat Morrow (Larry) of rural Marshall; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Diane was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Betty Baker and Lucille Breshears (Lee).

Founded in 2004 The Gateway Pundit is an online news publication consisting of news, commentary and analysis. Located in America’s Heartland, TGP focuses on topics Heartland Americans care about. Since its founding, TGP has grown as many Americans turn to digital news sources and as many Americans continue to lose trust in the purportedly unbiased nature of older newspapers and networks, TGP is addressing this gap as a trusted news source for the stories and views that are largely untold or ignored by traditional news outlets.
