Sherry Kay (Fields) Gremmel, 82 of Odessa, Missouri formerly of Lexington, MO passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Lexington United Methodist Church, 1211 S. Bus. Hwy 13, Lexington, MO, 64067. Sherry’s favorite color was purple, and she requested everyone to wear purple. Memorials are suggested to Beacon of Hope Hospice. Sherry was born on July 13, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa to ADelbert and Leona (Eastman) Fields. Sherry graduated from high school in California. On January 28, 1961, Sherry was united in marriage to Ray Bernard Gremmel in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2005. Sherry received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) from the Vocational Technical School in Warrensburg, MO. She worked mainly at nursing homes in Odessa, Oak Grove and Lexington and for a time worked at Lafayette Regional Health Center. Sherry was a member of Heart of God Fellowship in Buckner, MO and most recently was attending Hope of Lake Lafayette. Sherry had a love for riding motorcycles; she and her husband Ray would ride all over the United States and attended Sturgis Rally many times. Just a few weeks ago Sherry was able to take her last motorcycle ride. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Sherry enjoyed crafts, ceramics, crocheting, and collecting Precious Moments figurines. Sherry was a proud mother and grandmother; she never forgot a birthday or important moments in her family’s life.
Sherry is survived by four children, Robert (Connie) Gremmel of Lexington, MO, Adam Gremmel of Lexington, MO, Patricia (Michael) Looney of Odessa, MO, and Brian (Jen) Gremmel of Columbia, MO; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sherry was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Francesann Gremmel; a granddaughter, Alyssa Sheree`; four sisters; and one brother.
