Tommy Dean Shoop, age 58, a resident of Novinger, Missouri, passed away on January 3, 2026 at Boone County Memorial Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. He was born the son of William “Bill” and Judy L. (McBee) Shoop on July 8, 1967 in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a 1986 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Lois Eileen McKim on October 6, 2007 in Chillicothe, Missouri, she survives of the home.
Tommy worked for the Chillicothe Constitution Tribune as a press operator and maintenance man for several years. He was a member of Highview Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially the grandkids. His hobbies include woodworking, auto body work, model cars, crafting models of churches out of popsicle sticks and matches and drawing.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Randy (Dezeray) Eiler and Jason (Kelly) Eller; one daughter, Amanda Hilderman; four brothers, Terry (Tammy) Shoop of Pembroke, Georgia, Timmy (Beth) Shoop of Rothville, Missouri, Tony (Angie) Shoop of Jefferson City, Missouri, and William “Billy” Shoop (Jennifer Shirley) of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Jody Shoop of Columbia, Missouri; three half siblings, Donald, Fern, and Julia; five bonus siblings, which he met later in life, DJ, David, Johnny, Danny, Steve and Nori; 15 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held at Green Grove Cemetery, Novinger, Missouri on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alpha-1 Foundation and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
