Mark Douglas Butner, 71, of Marshall, MO, was born June 11, 1954, and passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026 at St. Peter Church with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating. Following mass there will be a reception with a gathering of family and friends in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic School in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julie; four devoted children: Tim Butner (Kristi), Tom Butner (Christy), Jennifer Butner (Eli) and Damean Butner; nine loving grandchildren: Trenton, Francesca, Robert, Daniel, Sophia, Henry, Mary Alice, Clayton, Vincil; six well fed dogs, and an endless amount of family and friends.
Mark had a heart larger than life. He was a man who cared deeply, but told it like it was with anyone who he came into contact with. A true family man, and in the words of Mark Butner, “It is what it is.
