Bernadine Ann (Kaminski) Magruder, 96, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church, 716 South 3rd St., Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will follow from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial with will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the church. A Rite of Committal will follow at the Odessa Cemetery. Bernadine was born on June 6, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Jean (Krasneski) Kaminski. In 1947, she graduated from Rosedale High School. On June 17, 1950, Bernadine was united in marriage to Paul E. Magruder in Fairway, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2020. A faithful member of St. George Catholic Church in Odessa, she found deep fulfillment in her faith and community. Bernadine dedicated many years of her life to her work as a teller at Southwestern Bell, where she was known for her meticulous nature and warm spirit. After retirement, she continued to express her creativity through quilting, sewing, and gardening. Her joy for life shone brightly in her love of old movies, particularly classics like “Gone With The Wind”, as well as in the laughter and camaraderie of square dancing.
Bernadine is survived by two sons, Richard (Melody) Magruder of Independence, KS, and Michael (Barbara) Magruder of Odessa, MO; and two daughters, Patricia (Mark) Pudenz and of Odessa, MO, and Sharon (Randall) Thompson of Bolivar, MO, 10 grandchildren, Janet Dunmire, Jennifer (Ron) Bandy, Jeanne Christeson, Michael (Honey Lynn) Thompson, David (Cherie) Magruder, Jim Christeson, Charlotte (Clifton) Pardue, Jolene (Brad) Hennon, Billy (Bre) Cobb, and Joey Magruder ; 25 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephew, relatives, and friends.
Along with both parents and husband, Bernadine was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Christeson; two brothers, Richard Kaminski and Ronald Kaminski.
