1 Corinthians 5:9-10 “I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.”

Imagine if we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and went straight to heaven. How cool would that be? The only problem with that scenario is that untold numbers would be left hurting and hopeless. “How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” (Romans 10:14 NLT). Who better to share the message of salvation than you and me?

When Jesus said, “Go into the world and make disciples of all nations,” He was talking to every believer. If Jesus went to the outcasts nobody wanted, so should we. We’re not to build little fortresses around our lives and never go out to the streets where they live. We must look into the eyes of the world—in all its sin and lost condition—and with broken hearts, see them as valuable and worth the effort to reach.

The attitude of the Christian should never be one of judgment and condemnation. That’s not our business nor jurisdiction. Our calling is to tell the world the good news. Our business is living such awesome, loving, and holy lives before an unbelieving world that they must consider Jesus Christ.

Christian, may we never forget that we remain in this world by the decree of God. From the schoolhouse to the workplace, let us carry the flame of Calvary’s love to all.
