As the girls’ high school track and field championships approach, a trans athlete is set to compete in this year’s girls’ tournament. The main controversy centers on AB Hernandez, a biological high school student at Jurupa Valley High School in Riverside County. Hernandez qualified for and competed in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Track & Field Championships in Clovis in the girls’ long jump, high jump, and triple jump.
