President Trump is currently interviewing a few different people to replace Tulsi Gabbard as the Director of National Intelligence. Bill Pulte, the federal housing regulator, is currently serving as the Acting DNI, however, President Trump said Pulte will not be in the role permanently. According to Semafor, GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik, Deputy Director of the CIA Michael Ellis and others are in the running to replace Pulte. Excerpt from Semafor: One name in the mix is Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who almost served as Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations before he pulled the nomination, arguing that her departure from Congress would jeopardize Republicans’ slim majority.
