The US Supreme Court on Thursday sided with the Trump Administration and allowed immigration officials to turn away migrants who show up at US-Mexico border seeking asylum. In a 6-3 decision, the high court ruled that migrants cannot apply for asylum until they step foot in the United States. The three liberal justices, Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson dissented. In a rare move, Sotomayor read her dissent from the bench. “The consequences of today’s decision are predictable,” Sotomayor read. “More people will die.
