Precious Bland A Miami-Dade judge ruled Tuesday that Precious Leslie Bland, 43, is not guilty by reason of insanity in the 2021 drowning death of her own 15-month-old daughter. Bland drowned the baby in a bathtub filled with bloody water during what her defense team successfully sold as a “COVID-induced psychotic episode,” the Miami Herald reported. She told family members they needed to be “baptized” because “Jesus Christ is coming and COVID is going to kill us all.” When her husband resisted, she ordered their 16-year-old daughter to fetch a knife and then stabbed both her husband in the head and neck and the teen in the arm as the girl tried to save the baby.
