Roylene Joy Duerkop, age 74, of Brookfield, MO; passed away peacefully Saturday, November 8, 2025; in Brookfield, MO; surrounded by her loved ones. It says in II Timothy 4-7, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Roylene Joy was born on September 7, 1951, to the late Roy Edward and Hazel E. (Woodard) Stubbs in Rockford, IL. Roylene attended Harlam High School and graduated in the class of 1969. After high school she worked for Giant Store, Osco Pharmacy, and then she drove for RC Cola over the road, that when she met Deane Duerkop Jr. and got married on May 21, 1983. Deane had two children, Deane and Dawne. He preceded her in death in 1992. Then shortly after she met Larry Henry, her lifelong companion. They moved from Rockford, IL; to Brookfield, MO; where they bought the Travel-Inn- Motel. They owned it for more than 20 years. Roylene took great pride in her grandchildren and her family.
Roylene is survived by her companion, Larry Henry, daughter, Amy Nolasco; son, Mark (Johni) Henry; brother, Edwin (Mary) Stubb; two nephews, Roy (Jessica) Stubbs and Jason (Jessica) Stubbs; one niece, Elinor Stubbs; twenty-three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hazel Stubbs, husband, Deane Duerkop Jr.; son-in-law, Johnny Nolasco, three grandchildren, Johnathan Nolasco, Michael Nolasco, and Alexandra Nalsoco; and great-grandson, Perseus Henry.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm. Friday, November 14, 2025, in the Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Machesney Park, IL. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
