Larry Wayne Stauffer Sr., age 86, of Saint Catherine, MO; passed away Tuesday evening, December 2, 2025, at his home. Larry Wayne was born on April 2, 1939, the son of Amos and Agnes (Carter) Stauffer in Van Buren, Indiana. After school he joined the United State Air Force. On February 4, 1960, Larry married Rosalea Benskin, she survives of the home. Larry started out as a brakeman for the railroad and then became a conductor. Larry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Brookfield. Larry farmed throughout his life raising beef cattle. He enjoyed helping his boys with their Angus show calves and taken them to the Linn County 4-H Fair and the Missouri State Fair. They had some good times at the shows. Larry was an avid reader; he loved to read a good western. Over the years he collected almost all of the Louis L’Amour westerns. He even enjoyed going to the library, all he had to do is tell them what he kind of book he wanted and they would go find it for him. One of Larry’s biggest enjoyments was spending time with his family and friends. Larry is survived by his wife, Rosalea Stauffer of Saint Catherine, MO; two sons, Wayne (Nancy) Stauffer of Trenton, MO; and Tracy (Miranda) Stauffer of Bonner Springs, KS; seven grandchildren, Erin Speichinger, Dane Horner, Briar Stauffer, Rachel Stauffer, McKatlyn Stauffer-Moroz, Ava Stauffer, and Aya Stauffer; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Agnes Stauffer; one son, Stacy Stauffer; two sisters, Jackie Fugate and Shirley Brown; and his mother and father-in laws, Russell and Helen Benskin. Funeral services will be held at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO; at 11:00 am. Saturday, December 6, 2025, with Jack Turpin officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, MO; with Full U. S. Air Force Military Honors. Visitation will be held at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO; Saturday, December 6, 2025, with family receiving friends from 10:00 am. until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
