Gary “Dean” Rogers, 70, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Dean was born on July 27, 1955, in Lexington, the son of Ralph and Donna (Smith) Rogers. He was first united in marriage to Paula Cognard; they later divorced. He was later united in marriage to Laurie Rogers; they later divorced.
Survivors include: daughter, Marla “Nikole” Baker of Wellington; stepdaughter, Brandy Silkwood of Rayville; five grandchildren: Olivia (Austin) Graning, Mya Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, Ryan Silkwood, and Lacey Silkwood; three great-grandchildren: Bentley, Hunter, and Aiden Graning; brother, Steve (Teresa) Rogers of Richmond; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Dana Rogers, sister, Lura Goodall, and nephew, Derek Goodall.
Dean was raised and educated in the area of his birth. He spent his working years on the railroad and was a proud member of the Millwrights Local Union #1529. A true creature of habit, Dean found comfort in life’s simple routines. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, barbequing and smoking meats, and relaxing while watching sports-especially cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
