James Terry Renick, 74, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Azria Health in Olathe, Kansas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home in Odessa. A funeral service will be held at on Friday, April 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church 224 W Dryden St., Odessa, Mo 64076. Interment will be at Odessa Cemetery. Terry was born in Odessa, Missouri on July 13, 1951, the son of Forest Lee Renick and Doreen Frances (Goold) Renick. He graduated from Odessa High School, Class of 1970 and went on to join the United States Navy.
After his service in the Vietnam War, Terry worked in the used car business for over 30 years and retired to enjoy his life on the family farm. This is where he felt most at home.
His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He was always present to cheer them on at the numerous school events, activities and sporting events. Most often this ended with Ice Cream with Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Douglas Renick and grandson Clayton Crump.
Terry is survived by his children Jennifer Murawski and husband Scott of Merriam, Kansas, Tera Downs and husband Chris of Grain Valley, Missouri, Christine Sanders and husband Charles of Mission Hills, Kansas, and Melissa Cote of Atlanta, Georgia, grandchildren: Tanner Kephart, Riley Murawski, Brady Murawski, Lawson Crump, Hailey Downs, Emma Downs, Oliver Sanders, Juliet Sanders, Clementine Sanders and Molly Cote, great grandchildren: Avery, Knox, Eretrea, Rainaleah, Christian, his sister Holly Wade and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
