Larry G. Mullikin, 76, of Richmond, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at NKC Health in North Kansas City.

Larry was born on December 11, 1949, in Excelsior Springs, the son of Elmer Lee and Vivian (Ashby) Mullikin. He was united in marriage to Sally Thomas of Blue Springs on July 8, 1974; they later divorced.

Survivors include: son, Bob (Carrie) Green of Mayview; two grandchildren, Codi Lee (Haley) Green and Gabrielle Elizabeth Green; two great-grandchildren, Moira and Mia Elizabeth; and brother, Gary Mullikin of Henrietta.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie “Muggs” Mullikin, and infant brother, Edward Lee Mullikin.

Larry was raised and educated in the area of his birth and was a graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence. Following high school, he attended trade school, earning his education as an electrical engineer. Larry began his career with Trail Mobile in North Kansas City before later working for Beardsley & Piper in Chicago. During his time there, his work allowed him the opportunity to travel extensively around the world.

After several years in Chicago, Larry returned to the area of his birth, where he was employed by the Water and Sewer Department in Richmond until his retirement.

In his free time, Larry had a deep love for drag racing and classic cars, especially his 1981 Corvette, which he and his son lovingly restored together, bringing it back to life. He cherished family gatherings and was well known for cooking Christmas meals-always preparing far more food than necessary-and for his spectacular homemade fudge. Above all else, Larry treasured time spent with his family, particularly moments shared with his beloved great-granddaughters, who brought him endless joy.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
