Mildred Eileen Terry, 102, of Salisbury died Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Chariton Park in Salisbury. She was born on November 18, 1923, in Southrop, England to James and Edith Maunder. She was one of 11 children. Mildred met her husband Ralph J Terry Jr while he was serving in the US Army Medical Corp during WWII. They were married on September 1, 1944. In March of 1946, Mildred traveled to the United States aboard the John Ericsson with 300 other brides and children. She became a US citizen in District Court in Hannibal, Missouri in May 1962. Mildred worked as a housekeeper in Salisbury for many years, including several schoolteachers. Mildred attended the First Baptist Church and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church throughout her life. She was a member of the C & R Liner Extension Club for 30 years. Mildred loved working in her flower gardens when she was able and watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Kenneth) Walter of Smithville, Missouri; Shirley (Kenneth) Schwartz of Kansas City, Missouri; Tracy (Trent) Bennett of Salisbury, Missouri; grandchildren Debbie Addison of Smithville, Missouri, Doug Walter (Kim) of Kansas City, Missouri; Nick McCune of Columbia, Missouri; Sara (Weston) Schieni of Salisbury, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Grant (Julie Ann) Sherwood, Jake (Everley) Walter, Brooke (Bella) Walter, Sophie McCune, Stella Schieni, several nieces and nephews all living in England. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph on November 18, 1980, three sisters: Daisy, Evelyn, Lily; seven brothers: James, John, Phillip, Harry, Walter, Kenneth, William and granddaughter, Donna Walter Sherwood. Visitation is Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, MO with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Eastlawn Memory Garden in Salisbury. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
