Mildred “Millie” Meador, 98, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Monday, September 14, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born March 23, 1928, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Arch Grimes Sr. and Lola Scott Grimes. On September 4, 1949, she married Lemer Wilson Meador who preceded her in death on January 6, 2010. Millie lived in Sweet Springs her entire life where she raised generations of her family. In addition to raising the family, she worked at International Shoe Factory and Rival Manufacturing, both in Sweet Springs. Millie was a longtime member of Sweet Springs Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include five children: Wayne Cross (Glenda) of Concordia, Judy Reinitz (Wilbert) of Sweet Springs, Marc Meador (Robin) of Independence, Tammy Schlueter (Jeff) of Concordia, and Darren Meador (Yvonne) of Sweet Springs; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Von Alan Meador; one daughter, Clydette Anderson; seven grandchildren; one brother, Arch Grimes Jr.; and one sister, Ruth Duffey
